Amazing news comes to the residents of the rural Coast of Lincolnshire, as the first customer just got connected to a superfast broadband service of up to 50Mbps thanks to ISP AB Internet and the European Regional Development Fund of £300k.

Broadband in rural areas
Consumers who reside in rural areas are most likely to get basic broadband speeds of at least 2Mbps. This is often not fast enough for a variety of activities including streaming live content, downloading movies or gaming. The UK has been plagued by the so-called digital divide which means that rural areas are stuck with slow speeds while urban locations get super connected to ultrafast broadband.

AB Internet in the East Coast of Lincolnshire
The new broadband ISP plans to deliver broadband services ranging from 2Mbps to 50Mbps to rural locations which previously had to deal with meagre speeds. The wards to benefit from AB Internet’s service include: Ingoldmells, Chapel St Leonards, Willoughby, Sloothby, Old Leake, Wrangle, Frithville, Stickney, Sibsey.

Neil Tucker, AB Internet’s Sales & Marketing Director, said:
“It’s nothing short of transformational. To see the expressions on the faces of users who are used to 0.5Mb, ‘cranking it up’ to a 50Mb connection, never fails to make me smile. It’s also fantastic to see that in Fantasy Island the local community has a champion whose motives extend further than its own benefit; giving back to the area is what it’s all about.”
